DIRECTED INDEPENDENT STUDIES RETREAT - June 22 – 26, 2022

This class is catered to your individual needs. Directed Independent Studies provides you with the opportunity to focus on your own interests. With class limit of 5 students, you will have a lot of one-on-one time with Ronda. You select the jewelry projects we will use for the basis of your individualized instruction, whether it’s a pendant, ring, or other specific designs that you would like to make.

After planning your projects, you will make the projects that you designed. Ronda will be there every step of the way to guide you in your projects’ execution. During this workshop, you will learn master bench jeweler skills. We will track your project time, so you know how closely you come to your initial estimate.

As a jeweler, it’s important to be able to anticipate your costs and schedule the timing of the steps it takes related to each design piece. You will learn how to forecast the necessary time, materials, and expenses for producing your specified design(s) and will estimate its retail price when done. Pricing can often be the most difficult part of doing custom work. This workshop class is perfect for a small group of friends to get together for a 5-day artist retreat!
